We are right at the onset of
the “Chocolate Season” kicking off before Halloween, taking in Christmas,
Valentine's and Mother's days ending just after Easter (give or take a bit of
abstention for Lent). The uses and benefits of cocoa powder are limitless, make
your own chocolates at home, stir up a nice hot chocolate drink, flavor your
brownies and cookies, etc.
Our extra dark cocoa powder does not contain preservatives,
hydrogenated fats, animal fat, cholesterol or gluten. This Cocoa is processed
with low heat. A must have for this season, our cocoa powder is deep reddish
brown in color and is universally known as the finest imported cocoa powder.
Benefits of cocoa powder
Just 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder contains 3 to
9 percent of the recommended daily intake of iron, manganese, magnesium and
zinc. In addition to carrying oxygen, iron helps make red blood cells and is
essential for your immune system.
Besides the above
possible health benefits of cocoa powder, UMIM says that cocoa may lower LDL
cholesterol, reduce the risk of blood clots, increase blood flow to the
arteries, lower high blood pressure, boost cognitive performance and provide essential
minerals such as calcium and potassium
